Monastiraki, nestled at the base of the Acropolis, is one of my favorite places in Athens. This vibrant neighborhood, with its own metro station, truly feels like the heart of the city. Monastiraki is steeped in history. Located southwest of Monastiraki Square is the famous Ancient Agora. This historical site is where you’ll find tour groups, history buffs, and informed tourists exploring the rich heritage of Athens. The uninterrupted views of the Acropolis, dotted with historical churches and greenery, are some of the best sights in the city.
